Now, although I don't have much time outside my current projects, I wanted to do a video audit for Morgan. If I can help someone with their site, especially with all of these updates and people losing traffic and revenue, then that's fantastic.

And I have to say I really enjoy doing them now and again. Even better!

It did take more than 15 minutes, as that was just the recording time! It was more like an hour all-in and I naturally needed to review/audit the site before I hit record.

Morgan has a couple of other sites too, which I also had to take a look at to get a feel for the overall picture.

I also realised there was a buzzing noise all the way through it when I played it back, and spent some time in Descript editing before it was finally ready to share!

The feedback from Morgan made it all worth it though.

My main site is pretty much all based around targeting low competition keywords.

As I mentioned in a recent email, I'm moving more towards building sites with high domain authority and engaging content.

So far, it's going nicely, although it will be years before I get it to where I want!

I do have a dual strategy here, though, which is this:

1. High authority route: As per the above, build out the content slowly on this site and acquire high authority backlinks for the long term. It's fine if this takes 2-3 years to get to the level I want, as it's a long term project.
2. Low competition, high-volume route: This relates to my main site in Mediavine, which got hit hard in the HCU, but which has since stablilised. My plan here is to optimise existing posts using tools like RankIQ, and scale up my content targeting more low competition keywords.

The tool I will be using for 2) is Koala Writer. Their Gold Black Friday deal is too good to pass up, but really any of them with 45% off is probably too good to pass up!

I tried Koala again at the weekend and found how you can auto-insert AI images and even YouTube links within your content a game-changer!

Uploading images is one of my least favourite parts of building sites.

Finding, saving, uploading and formatting images is something that has put me off developing new content over the years. It take SO long and feels so laborious.

So Koala helps massively there. I've also found the content quality a lot better now, although you of course need to fact check and review before you publish!
